Adelaide is an interesting place. In the heart of the city you can find streets of all types. Ada Street is a tiny residential street and there was plenty of quiet interest in what I was doing at the time. Nothing spoken, I was just carefully watched. After all, we all know that big camera's and big lenses means there is something to be suspicious about. I would have been more worried with a guy surreptitiously taking photos.

The North Side? Ada Street
Did a quick search on the State Library of South Australia website for old photos of Ada Street.
Ada was clearly a popular female name. There was one photo of Ada Street - click here to see it. Apparently it is of the northern side of Ada Street in 1961. The Right side of this photo is the northern side of Ada Street.
It looks like the 1961 photo is of the southern side?? Taken from the Northern Side. Maybe it is even Ada Street in Adelaide!

Ada Street - One Way Forward.
Only one year late. That is a pretty good metric.
I planned to start this on 1 January 2007. But 4 January 2008 will have to do.
The premise is simple - open up the Adelaide Street Directory - scan the index and find the first street in the City of Adelaide - walk to it and take photos. So here it is, the first photo from the first street.
As you can tell my research is limited. I did pop in Ada Street into Google, the first six entries, including on of my photos on Flickr, were actually from Adelaide.
